Parent Partnership

Footsteps Nursery understands the importance of good relationships with parents and carers, as you know your child better than anyone. We have thorough and comprehensive policies and procedures in place to preserve the safety and well-being of everyone. These policies and procedures are available to you upon request.

Free Childcare Places

All 3 and 4 year olds in England are entitled to 570 hours of FEEE. This is usually taken as a maximum of 15 hours a week over 38 weeks of the year, in line with Leicestershire’s school term dates, but can be taken as fewer hours over more weeks. Some 2 year olds are also eligible.

Employee Childcare Vouchers

We except all employee childcare vouchers.
So remember to check if you are eligible to claim the scheme with your employer. Please feel free to speak to a member of the management team if you would like some additional advice regarding this.

Tax free childcare scheme

Say hello to tapestry!

Innovative, Interactive Online Learning Journal

Tapestry in an online learning journal which Footsteps use to keep a log of your child’s development during their time with us. Parents sign a contract in which they agree to tapestry being used. Each tapestry user is individual to you and your child and is password protected.

Footsteps staff will add regular ‘Post its’ (we call these wow moments) and ‘Focus observations’, ‘Next steps’ will be added and updated on a monthly basis. Additionally, children will receive a ‘My first day’ observation at the end of their first session and a ‘Baseline’ after a 6 week settling in period. Termly stories will be completed using the evidence generated over the set periods.

At Footsteps we offer a well balanced and nutritious menu which gives children the opportunities to try many different tastes, textures and foods. All meals are prepared by a qualified cook using fresh quality produce.

All dietary requirements will be adhered to at all times. We have experience dealing with children with diary allergies and coeliacs disease, and endeavour to keep ideas fresh and update staff knowledge regularly. Take a look at some of our favourite recipes that our wonderful cook prepares. They are always a big hit with all the children and would be a fun activity to try at home. Please feel free to contact us if you would like to see a sample of our menus.
